VIP Culture – Youth exchange in Macedonia (FYROM)

TeamworkVIP Culture is a brand new Erasmus+ project, in which Babilon Travel NGO is acting as partner and sending organization.

The main activity is a youth exchange that will take place in Krushevo, FYRO Macedonia, during September 24 – October 1, 2018.

The aim of our project is to promote the idea of integration into society and culture of visually impaired or blind young people. The project intends to motivate the participants to believe in themselves, to raise their self-esteem, to overcome their fears, discriminations, to raise their awareness and to become more open towards others.

During the project there will workshops, activities and events promoting the idea of integration, inclusion, diversity and cultural heritage. All the activities are designed take into consideration active participation of the youth, and the need and possibilities of visual impaired participants. Culture will be used as a tool for stimulating participants’ creativity, positive thinking and courage to overcome their fears and break down barriers.  By using non-formal and informal methods of teaching, the project will encourage the participants to take a deeper look into their inner self, find interests and choose the best method of personal development. Active and diversified ways of spending free time, as well as experiences presented by the experts will be an opportunity for young people to shape their characters.

The project will also let participants become more independent. It will also promote the idea of inclusion.

THE PARTICIPANTS

The participants from each partner, citizens or legal residents of Macedonia (FYROM), Poland, Romania and Turkey, should be:

  1. 3 visually impaired/blind youngsters, age 16-30;
  2. 2 youth leader or youth workers, age 18+, able to use English as a working language;
  3. 3 accompanying persons for the visually impaired/blind youngsters, age 18+ and speakin English on a reasonable level.

This means a total of 32 participants (youngsters, youth leaders/youth workers and accompanying persons), that should also be:

  • Directly involved, or interested in the youth field;
  • Open to the needs and desires of youth;, with and without disabilities;
  • Ready to attend all the activities of the youth exchange;
  • Willing to disseminate the results of the youth exchange.

THE VENUE

The youth mobility will take place in Krushevo, Macedonia (FYROM). It will start on September 24 (arrival) and will end on October 1 (departuire)

Kruševo is a mountain town situated at an altitude of 1,350 meters, Kruševo is the highest town in Macedonia and is known for its 19th-century domestic architecture. The town has old and more recent houses built in the style of old Macedonian architecture. It is home to MečkinKamen, a historical landmark that commemorates the spot of the uprising of 1903.

In case you are Romanian citizen or legal resident in Romania and interested to apply, you can find the on-line application here. Application deadline is September 12, 2018 and the results will be announced on September 14.
